Rachel McLaughlin, born in Houston, TX, is a sculptor working across disciplines in fiber art, painting, and ceramics, with an emphasis on found and handmade materials. Her work explores grief and craft, engaging material through the lens of lived experience and personal relationship to loss. Drawing from her knowledge of craft disciplines and a love for material discovery through play and ritual, Rachel creates works that are both intimate and tactile.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Houston and is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts at the University of New Mexico.
